My family is always on the look out for fun adventures here in Arizona. I am thrilled to be attending the Annual Arizona Renaissance Festival and Artisan Marketplace! I have never been, and can't wait for the experience! The Arizona Renaissance Festival is held annually and is said to be fun for the whole family! This Medieval amusement park has a 12- stage theater, a 30 acre circus, and an arts and craft! If that doesn't sound exciting enough, how about a jousting tournament and feast!? All of this rolled up into one non-stop, day long family adventure!!

See you there!!! :)
My family and I visited the festival this last weekend for our first time and had so much fun!! We arrived shortly after the gates opened at 10:30 a.m. We got caught in a bit of traffic on the two lane road leading up to the festival grounds, but this was to be expected! Parking was well organized and free which is always a plus! The place was packed! There were all kinds of folks enjoying the festivites, and there was truly something for everyone to enjoy! Whether it be shopping, getting your hair braided, your face painted, or your fortune told, they had things going on around every corner! They also had plenty of things to do for the kiddos! My kids had an amazing time, riding the many rides which ran about $3 per person, playing the games, and they really enjoyed watching the juggling act and jousting competition.
There were three jousting competions throughout the day and we chose the first one which was at noon. There was no shade in the stands and it did get quite warm, so I would recommend grabbing a bottle of water and applying sunscreen before the show! I was kind of wishing I had purchased one of the cute little parasols they had for sale or a hand held fan. We survived and my son couldn't stop talking about our knight! During the jousting competition there was a man selling flags that matched the color of your knight, and after the show the knight will even sign it for you, my son thought he was cooler than sliced bread with an autographed flag! The rest of the faire grounds were really cool! we loved the buildings, and there was plenty of places to get out of the sun!
There are a lot of trees and shade tents. Restrooms were a plenty. Most the places only accepted cash, so make sure you stop by the atm on your way, but if you forget there were many atms on the faire grounds as well. We enjoyed the many craft beers available, and the Steak on a Stake was unbelievably delicious! We spent the better part of the day at the faire and still don't think we saw everything! If you have never been to The Arizona Renassaince Faire, I highly recommend you go!
